Q: What is "EmoSonic"?

A: EmoSonic, Inc. is a software development and web-hosting company founded by Mark Langbehn. In his day-job Mark is a computer programmer doing Java and internet-related software development. By night, he's a musician and recording engineer that his friends call "Emo".

This site, emosonic.com is a vehicle for sharing many of the high-quality recordings he has made of his own musical projects and demos of his friends' bands.

Q: What does "Emo" mean?

A: "Emo" is Mark's nickname which people started calling him back in the early 80's. It's originally an acronym for "Excellent Male Offspring". And no, it has nothing to do the music-genre called "emo" which was coined in the mid-80's.

Q: Where did the name "EmoSonic" come from?

A: Back in the day, Adam and Emo used to play at a local bar called "The Barnstormer". The bartender there "Richie" would greet Emo with the Japanese-style honorific "Emo-san". One day Emo fired back: "Emo-san-ic". And thus the name "Emo-sonic" was born.
